Women's Rowing Finishes Second in Team Standings at Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Schuylkill River) – The final day of the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta took place Saturday and the Bucknell women's rowing team finished in second place in the team standings, behind only Massachusetts. Four Bison boats competed in finals races on Saturday and all four of them earned silver medals.
The Bucknell varsity eight, junior varsity eight and varsity four had identical showings on Saturday as each won its semifinal race and then finished second to Massachusetts in their finals. All three boats advanced to Saturday's races thanks to strong showings in Friday's heats.
The lightweight four was the other Bison boat to compete in a final Saturday and it finished second to Penn State after placing second to the Nittany Lions in Friday's heat.
The freshman eight (third place) and varsity pair (fourth place) raced in semifinals on Saturday, giving Bucknell six of its eight boats in action on the second day of the Dad Vail Regatta.
Note: Due to a scoring error at the Dad Vail Regatta, an earlier version of this article listed Bucknell in a first-place tie with Massachusetts in the team standings.
