A native of Margate, N.J., Sierra McCarron is the daughter of Kelly McCarron. She graduated from and rowed for Atlantic City High School. Majoring in education and psychology, Sierra graduated as a three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and the Bucknell University Dean’s List. Additionally, Sierra was named a CRCA National Scholar Athlete in 2016.
In her time on the Bucknell women’s rowing team, Sierra was a member of four Patriot League Championship boats. As a freshman, sophomore and senior, Sierra raced in the Second Varsity Eight where she earned a bronze, silver, and gold medal, respectively. As a junior, she earned a silver medal in the Varsity Four. Sierra also earned a bronze and gold medal in the Second Varsity Eight and a silver medal in the Varsity Four at the Dad Vail Regatta during her freshman, sophomore, and junior year, respectively. Outside of rowing, Sierra was a volunteer and mentor with infant, preschool, elementary and middle school children in the Lewisburg and surrounding communities.
