LEWISBURG, Pa. – Seven talented recruits are set to join the Bucknell rowing team this fall. The incoming class will supplement a strong returning cast, as only three seniors graduated from last year's squad that placed fifth out of 10 teams at the Patriot League Championships.
"Bucknell Women's Rowing will greatly benefit from the incoming speed, talent, and work ethic that this class of seven young women has demonstrated throughout their high school careers," said head novice coach and recruiting coordinator Kelly Harris. "Their racing experience is exciting, and the energy and enthusiasm they each have for going fast, along with their desire to be great teammates, are just a few of their contagious qualities. The Bison family is excited to welcome them to campus, and we have no doubt they will play a big role in the next chapter of success as the team looks to build upon its championship culture. The Patriot League is becoming an even more competitive field of teams, as evidenced by the tight racing at the 2025 championship. The highest standards of recruiting for the Bison remain a top priority, and the future for BUWR in the league is very promising as these scholar-athletes join a very solid and driven group of returning sophomores, juniors, and seniors for the 2025-26 campaign."
Bucknell has finished in the top five in all 20 editions of the Patriot League Championships, including seven first-place finishes and five runner-up placements. The most recent second-place team trophy came in 2022, when all three boats medaled and the Varsity Eight ran away with a stunning victory to earn gold medals and PL Boat of the Year honors.
Below are the seven newly recruited members of the team:
Frances Butterfield - Concord, N.H. / Proctor Academy / Friends of Concord Crew
Caroline Cawley - Broomall, Pa. / Merion Mercy Academy / Merion Mercy Crew
Kaitlyn Furtney - Fonthill, Ontario / E.L. Crossley Secondary School / E.L. Crossley Rowing
Margaret "Johnny" Greenberg - Acton, Mass. / Acton-Boxborough Regional High / Bromfield-Acton-Boxborough Rowing
Emma Kammann - Villanova, Pa. / Brentwood College School / Brentwood College School Rowing
Rosemary Ostrowski - Toronto, Ontario / Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School / Argonaut Rowing Club
Jessica Vosbikian - Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown High School / Cooper Junior Rowing Club
