BOSTON, Mass. – The Bucknell Varsity Eight turned in a strong showing in the Women's Club Eights race at the Head of the Charles on Saturday. The Bison finished 13th in a field of 40 boats, improving by four places from last year's showing, which locked in a spot in the 2026 field.

The Club Eights category is comprised of a combination of collegiate and club crews. Yale ran away with the race with a time of 16:50.654 that was more than 23 seconds faster than second-place Northeastern. Princeton, Georgetown, and Radcliffe rounded out the top five.

Bucknell finished in 17:35.367. Freshman Elliott Bullis debuted as coxswain. Evelyn Sherman rowed from the stroke seat, backed by Sadye Levensten (7), Kalena Gatesman (6), Frances Butterfield (5), Rosemary Ostrowski (4), Katherine Babb (3), Clara Eikeboom (2), and Caroline Cawley (B).

Bucknell also had two Alumnae boats in action on Saturday. The Alumnae Four finished 11th in a field of 25 boats, and the Alumnae Eight placed 33rd out of 48.

Ava Rysman coxed the crew, which featured Abby Gerst (S), Abby Malek (7), Caroline Corbett (6), Logan Moore (5), Bella Guzman (4), Dehlia Rotchford (3), Hayden Groves (2), and Annabelle Kaeli (B).

Juliette Gaggini coxed the Alumnae Four. Maddie Wickers, Caroline Brandt, Millie Malloy, and Colby Bernhard comprised the rest of the crew.

Bucknell has two more competitions coming up later in the fall. The Bison will row at the Princeton Chase on Lake Carnegie on Nov. 1 and at the US Rowing Small Boat National Championship on Mercer Lake in New Jersey on Nov. 14.
