Bucknell Athletics Bag Policy
Bucknell Athletics Security and Screening Policy
In partnership with Bucknell Public Safety, and to help ensure the safety and security of all Athletics event attendees, Bucknell University has instituted enhanced security measures, including metal and weapons detection technology, at entrances to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium and Sojka Pavilion. These additional security measures are consistent with those in place at other campus events, such as concerts and Commencement activities.
Please be advised that for ticketed events at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium and Sojka Pavilion, all spectators must be screened prior to entry. Spectators should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event in order to ensure ample time to enter the facility and get seated. Secondary screenings will be conducted as needed by security staff. Any spectator who leaves and re-enters the facility will be required to undergo screening again.
This policy also applies when ticketed athletic events are hosted in other athletic venues.
Bag Restrictions
Only small clutch bags (no larger than 4.5” by 6.5”) and bags made of clear plastic (any size) will be allowed inside Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium and Sojka Pavilion. Exceptions will be made for Bucknell employees and vendors whose work requires event-related supplies or equipment. In addition, strollers, diaper bags, and medically-necessary equipment are permitted, but will be subject to search upon request.
The University is unable to provide bag storage, so please plan accordingly. Prohibited items should be left in your vehicle, residence, or hotel.
Clear plastic bags will be provided at the gate, if needed, while supplies last. Bucknell-branded clear bags can be purchased online and at the Barnes & Noble at Bucknell University store at 400 Market Street in Lewisburg.
