A native of Orinda, Calif., Margo Boyd is the daughter of Liz and Bob Boyd. She graduated from Miramonte High School and joined the Bucknell women’s rowing team as a novice. Majoring in applied mathematics with minors in philosophy and economics, Margo graduated as a four-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the Bucknell University Dean’s List, three-time CRCA National Scholar Athlete and a member of the Academic All-Patriot League Rowing Team in 2014 and 2015. Additionally, Margo was awarded the Alvin F. Jackson, Jr. Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award, presented to senior athletes for outstanding academic and athletic achievement and future promise as Bucknell alumni.
In her time on the Bucknell women’s rowing team, Margo was a member of three Patriot League Championship boats, racing in the Second Varsity Eight. She earned a bronze and two silver medals during her sophomore, junior, and senior season respectively. Margo also raced at the Dad Vail Regatta four times. She earned a bronze medal in the Freshman Eight. In her sophomore, junior and senior year, Margo earned a bronze, gold, and silver medal in the Second Varsity Eight. Outside of rowing, Margo was the chairman of alumni relations for the Chi Omega sorority, a three-year Presidential Distinguished Academic Achievement award recipient, a Bucknell University tour guide and tutor and a member of the Pi Mu Epsilon, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies.
