LEWISBURG, Pa. – Nine members of the Bucknell women's rowing team have earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete Awards, celebrating their success on the water and in the classroom. The Bison recipients are Morgan Brill, Caroline Corbett, Clara Eikeboom, Kalena Gatesman, Bella Guzman, Hattie Hopper, Sadye Levensten, Logan Moore, and Callie VonderHaar.
To be recognized as a CRCA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must be in at least their second year of eligibility while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher through the end of the fall semester. Candidates also must have rowed in at least 75 percent of spring races in an NCAA or IRA eligible boat, or raced in an NCAA boat at their conference championship.
The Bison rowing team excelled in both areas this season. Buoyed by a silver-medal finish from the Varsity Eight and a bronze-medal showing from the 2V8+, the team took second place at the Patriot League Championships on the Cooper River last month. In the classroom, the team combined for a 3.50 GPA, with 23 student-athletes making the Dean's List and eight receiving perfect 4.0s.
