Men’s Lacrosse Hosts Patriot League Home Opener Against Boston University

Bucknell at a Glance
- The Bison look to break their three-game losing streak on Saturday with a home contest against Boston University at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium at noon.
- The Bison are currently 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the Patriot League. After opening the 2025 season with back-to-back wins over Merrimack and St. Bonaventure, the Bison have lost their last three contests with Dartmouth, Hobart and Holy Cross. The last two of the three were come-back one goal wins by the other team.

- The Bison had a three-goal lead 8-5 heading into the fourth quarter of play, but the Crusaders came into the final 15 minutes with vengeance as they outscored the Bison 5-2 and tied the game at 10. This would force not one, but two overtime periods of play ending in a Holy Cross game-winning goal.
- Six Bison notched goals in the game with four of them having two apiece. Connor Davis added two goals to his tally, which brings him seven goals away from becoming the all-time leader in career goals at Bucknell. He came into the Holy Cross game ranked second nationally in goals per game.
- Other Bucknell scorers were Cam Doolan (2), Will Hopkins (2), Owen Kovacs (2), Sean Berrigan (1) and Michael Meyer (1).
- Meyer, who came into this game ranked fifth nationally in assists, added two more to his tally bringing him to 16 assists on the season.
- Starting goaltender Jaz Zanelli finished the game with 10 saves. Renaud came in with seconds left in the fourth quarter and notched three big saves for the Bison.
- The Bison, who came into the Holy Cross game with a great EMO unit that was 10-for-15, missed its two man-up opportunities in the game.
- The top-three point getters for the Bison are Michael Meyer (12-16-28), Connor Davis (23-3-26) and Will Hopkins (8-7-15)
- Connor Davis is still ranked second in the nation in goals per game with 4.60. He is also ranked 10th in points per game with 5.20.
- Michael Meyer currently holds a share of fifth in the nation in assists per game with 3.20. He also has a share of fourth in points per game with 5.60.
- Will Pickering holds a share of ninth in the nation in caused turnovers with 2.40.
- Bucknell currently has a share of first in the nation in assists per game with 11. The Bison have a share of seventh in the nation in ground balls per game with 35.80.
- The EMO unit is ranked sixth in the nation with 10 goals on 17 attempts.
- The team is ranked fourth in points per game with 26.40 and has the fifth-ranked scoring offense with 15.40 goals per game.
Boston University at a Glance
- The Terriers are 4-1 overall and 0-1 in the Patriot League after dropping their contest with Navy 13-9.
- Before the loss to Navy, BU was on a four-game winning streak with wins over Siena, Monmouth, Brown and Air Force.
- The No. 20 Boston University men's lacrosse team nearly pulled off a miraculous second-half comeback but fell just short at Navy, 13-9 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
- BU trailed by 10 late in the third quarter until the Terriers went on a 6-0 run to get within four midway through the fourth quarter. Although they got within three in the final minute, the Terriers were unable to cut further into the deficit and Navy hung on for the win.
- The top-three point getters for the Terriers are Timothy Shannehan (13-11-24), Jimmy Kohr (14-5-19) and Jimmy O'Connell (8-9-17).
- Will Barnes is the starting goalkeeper for BU and has a 7.80 goals against average and a save percentage of .598.

The Bucknell-Boston University Series
- Bucknell is 4-7 all-time against Boston University and on a six-game losing streak to the Terriers.
- In their last contest, the Terriers defeated the Bison in Boston 13-10. Bucknell out-shot the hosting Terriers 47-25 and benefited from 25 Terrier turnovers, but it wasn't enough as Boston U took the three-goal win. The Bison entered the fourth quarter down half-a-dozen goals before outscoring the Terriers 4-1 in the final frame. They also mounted a small comeback in the first quarter to trail by just one after Boston opened the game with three unanswered scores. Boston managed to score on 13 of its 21 shots on goal and won 64 percent of the face-offs (16-25).
- The Bison are 3-2 on home turf against the Terriers.
