Owen Kovacs Earns Spot on Academic All-Patriot League Men’s Lax Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior Owen Kovacs was one of 12 players named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team on Thursday. Kovacs enjoyed a terrific senior campaign as one of the league's highest-scoring attackmen, and he also carries a 3.72 cumulative grade-point average in finance.
Kovacs finished second on the team with 31 goals, and his 2.07 goals per game ranked 15th in the league. The Rye, N.Y., native had some huge games for the Bison this season, scoring five goals in a win over Colgate and then matching that total along with two assists for a seven-point performance in a key late-season win over Holy Cross. That outing earned him a spot on the USILA National Team of the Week.
Kovacs appeared in only one game over his first two seasons, mostly due to injury, but he emerged as a junior and senior to produce 50 goals and 12 assists.
Off the field, Kovacs is a Dean's List student in Bucknell's Freeman College of Management. He is an analyst with the Bucknell Student-Managed Investment Fund, a highly selective group that manages $5 million of the university's endowment. Kovacs manages the fixed income portfolio. He also worked as a summer analyst with Waterfall Asset Management LLC in New York City last summer and is a member of the Bison Finance Society.
Kovacs helped lead the Bison back to the postseason for the first time since 2022. Bucknell was the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Tournament but dropped a hard-fought overtime decision to Colgate in the first round.
