Bucknell at a Glance
- The Bison are currently on a one-game losing streak after dropping its last contest to South Florida 16-8 in Tampa. Prior to that game the Bison were on a three-game winning streak. Now Bucknell is 4-3 heading into Patriot League play which begins on Saturday, March 15 at 4 p.m.
- The top-three point grabbers for Bucknell are Allie Boyce with 15 (14G and 1A), Taylor McClain with 14 (3G and 11A) and Alex Nesbitt with 13 (8G and 13A).
- Allie Boyce currently holds third place in Bucknell history in career goals with 130 total. She is ten goals away from second place. She also ranks 14th nationally in free position goals per game with eight FPG in seven games and 7th nationally in Free position percentage going 8-for-10.
- Taylor McClain has a share of third place all-time in assists at Bucknell with Melissa Montefusco '02 having 72 assists. She is six assists away from second place.
- Bucknell ranks 8th nationally in caused turnovers per game with 11.29.
- After going 1-1 to open its season on home turf, Bucknell went on a three-game winning streak with its last win coming against Xavier where the Bison won 12-8. They then dropped their most recent contest with USF 16-8 to end their Florida trip.
- Carly Cenci led the team in scoring as she earned her first career hat trick in the fourth quarter of the contest against USF. Four other Bison found their way to the back of the net in Caroline Sheridan, Aliza Thir, Alex Macutek, and Alex Nesbitt. Three of those goals were assisted with Nesbitt, Krestinski, and Ava Harris notching the assists.
- The third quarter was a major separator in the game as the Bulls dominated that 15-minute period scoring five goals in a row before Nesbitt notched Bucknell's lone goal of the quarter.
- The Bison's offense struggled to finish and maintain possession throughout the game. Bucknell recorded 30 shots with 20 of those shots being on goal. The Bison also had 20 turnovers and went 1-for-4 on free-position shots.
- The Bison, who have struggled on the draw circle this season, started off strong winning multiple draws in a row, but they ultimately ended 12-for-28 on the night.
- Colleen Kazanjian played the full 60 minutes in net for Bucknell and recorded 10 saves on the evening.
Boston University at a Glance
- The Terriers are on a one-game winning streak after defeating New Hampshire on the road 14-8 on Wednesday. Before that game, the Terriers dropped its Patriot League opener to Army West Point 18-8.
- The top-three point grabbers on Boston University are Izabella Amonte with 21 (17G and 4A), Tessa Geddes with 18 (16G and 2A) and Hannah Tillier with 17 (10G and 7A).
- Fueled by a hat trick from junior Leah Hodgins, the Boston University women's lacrosse team picked up a 14-8 win over the New Hampshire Wildcats.
- The Terriers found themselves down 2-0 to the Wildcats in the first quarter, but used four unanswered goals to take the lead and then held it for the remainder of the contest.
- In net, sophomore Natalie Aiosa made 15 saves, marking a new career high by three saves. She finished with a .652 save percentage.
The Bucknell-Boston University Series
- The Bison are 2-9 overall in the series with the Terriers.
- On the road, Bucknell is 1-5 against BU.
- In their last contest, the Bison hosted the Terriers and defeated them for the first time since 1996 with a score of 16-13 ending a nine-game losing streak to BU.
- In that contest, Boston University was in control for nearly 55 minutes and led by as many as four on two occasions, but the Bucknell women's lacrosse team came back to end the game on a 4-0 run and defeat the Terriers 16-13 in the first Patriot League game of the season.
Next Up
- Bucknell will head home for its first home Patriot League game of the season against Navy. The game will be hosted at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium at 3 p.m. as a part of a double-header with men's lacrosse which starts at noon. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
