LEWISBURG, Pa. — Caleigh Cummiskey earned her third Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor after leading the Bison in scoring in their 12-11 victory over Holy Cross, the league announced on Monday.
The freshman led Bucknell's scoring attack with six points on four goals and two assists against the Crusaders. Cummiskey's efforts helped lead Bucknell to its third-straight win and snap its six-game losing streak to Holy Cross.
The Connecticut-native gave Bucknell its first lead of the game when she scored back-to-back free-position goals to make it 3-2 late in the first quarter. She then opened the second half of the game with a goal to extend the Bison's lead to 9-7. After Bucknell lost its lead once again, Cummiskey made it a 10-9 game at the end of the third quarter with a goal off of a Megan Krestinski assist. Alongside the four goals, she was responsible for two assists that helped the Bucknell offense edge out the Holy Cross defense and earn the narrow one-goal win.
Bella Crowley, Megan Krestinski and Alex Nesbitt each earned Patriot League Honorable Mentions for their performances in the contest as Army swept the other weekly awards with their ranked win over Yale.
