About the Bison
- Bucknell is back on the road this weekend for matches at American and Navy. The Bison have just five matches remaining on the schedule, and four of them are away.
- The Bison collected a 3-2 win over Holy Cross on Friday, giving them a series sweep over the Crusaders for the season. Bucknell then took a 3-0 loss to Army on Saturday. Three different Bison recorded double-digit kills in a match last weekend and five posted double-digit digs. Senior Jennie Burke led the team with 11 kills in the Army match, while Catherine Jamison registered a team-best 11 in the win over the Crusaders.
- First-year libero Jordan Hardy was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week following her career-high 31 digs in the Holy Cross match. She also added 18 digs against Army and finished the weekend with six assists. It was the first weekly honor the Bison have collected this season. Hardy has been in double figures in the category in all but three matches.
- Sophomore setter Sarah Ramirez totaled 60 assists and 19 digs over the weekend, and her 23 assists and 11 digs in Sunday's match gave her the fifth double-double she's posted season. Ramirez ranks fifth in the Patriot League with her 8.80 assists per set.
- Two Bison, Jen Sivak and Jamison, rank top 10 in the Patriot League in hitting percentage. Sivak is now fourth with her season mark of .290, and Jamison is 10th at .253. Sivak hit .292 with nine kills on 24 total attempts on Friday. Jamison also ranks 10th in the league in kills per set with 2.90.
- Sivak leads the Bison in blocks per set as well, adding seven more over the weekend. She's ninth in the league in blocks and just one spot above fellow Bucknell middle blocker Valentina Feigl.
- Bucknell entered league play 4-5 following three non-conference tournaments. Bucknell wet 2-1 in the season-opening Delaware State tournament, 1-2 at the Penn tournament, and 1-2 at the Cornell Invitational. Bucknell has played two five-setters and has one 3-0 sweep this season.
- Bucknell played a truncated season in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic and went 1-3 against Patriot League opponents.
- Head coach Tyler Hagstrom is in his second season with the Bison. He previously served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Princeton from 2016 to 2019.
- The Bison returned 13 letterwinners and welcomed four newcomers to the roster, bringing the team total to 17. An outside hitter, a middle blocker and a pair of liberos make up the rookie class, which has seen plenty of playing time through the first three weekends of the season. Hagstrom also added two new assistants, Erin Kretzschmar and Jeremy Young, to the coaching staff.
Scouting American/Series History
- American enters the weekend with a 13-11 (7-4 PL) record. The Eagles won back-to-back matches against Navy and Loyola last weekend and are currently fourth in Patriot League standings.

She was named the Patriot League Player of the Week this week following a double-double (12 kills, 13 digs) vs. VCU and a career-high 30 kills in the win over Loyola. She added 28 kills and 15 digs in the win over Navy on Sunday.
