LEWISBURG, Pa.- First-year head coach John Post rounded out his 2026 staff with the hiring of University of Southern Indiana standout Bianca Anderson. The former Screaming Eagle, recently graduated, transitions from player to coach and will bring a fresh perspective to the experience-laded Bucknell coaching staff. Â
"From the moment I stepped on campus, I could feel how special Bucknell is," said Anderson. "The culture, the people, and the vision for the program immediately stood out to me, and I am incredibly grateful and excited for the opportunity to join the Bucknell Volleyball family. My experience as a Division I student-athlete taught me the importance of toughness, consistency, and investing fully in your team every day. I am excited to bring that same energy, competitiveness, and positivity to Bucknell Volleyball."
Anderson carved out a studded four-year career (2022-2025) as a dominant middle blocker with the recently transitioned to Division I program. She earned back-to-back Second Team All-OVC honors, becoming only the second Screaming Eagle to notch two All-OVC honors.
Her name dots the record book, as Anderson finished her tenure with 888 kills (20th in program history) on a robust .261 hitting percentage, 291 blocks (11th in program history), 144 digs, and 1068.5 points.Â
She will bring first-hand experience regarding program building. Her rookie season in 2022 was Southern Indiana's first Division I campaign. The Screaming Eagles posted a 1-28 record. By her senior season under her leadership as team captain, USI improved to 19-13 overall and 14-4 in the OVC and finished as a semifinalist in the conference tournament.Â
Her 2025 campaign was her finest, logging career-highs in digs (72), service aces (17), and total blocks (113). She recorded 274 kills, narrowly missing establishing a personal record. Her 0.93 blocks per set ranked seventh in the conference.Â
"I am passionate about building strong relationships with student-athletes and helping create an environment where players can compete confidently, grow as leaders, and succeed both on and off the court," continued Anderson. "I cannot wait to get in the gym and get to work with this team."
Her academic prestige slots well with Bucknell's emphasis on student-athlete development. She excelled in the classroom, garnering CSC Academic All-District honors in 2025.Â
"Bucknell's commitment to excellence academically and athletically made this an opportunity that truly stood out to me. I am excited to continue learning, growing, and contributing to the future success of the program."
While new to the collegiate coaching scene, Anderson has spent several years coaching club volleyball and providing private training for athletes of all ages and skill levels. That experience has sharpened her skills in player development, recruiting, scouting preparation, film breakdown, and training.Â
Anderson earned a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration in 2025 and will receive a Master's of Marketing this summer. Both degrees are from Southern Indiana.Â
Bucknell Volleyball returns this August with an action-packed 2026 schedule.Â
