One of the first two women elected to the Hall of Fame alongside Barbara Castens-Seidell, Wegener Knisely was Bucknell's first three-sport (field hockey, basketball, lacrosse) captain in 40 years and set scoring records in both field hockey and lacrosse. In hockey, she still holds Bison career records for points (122) and goals (55), and she also set single season marks with 21 goals and 49 points in 1977. Three times she scored four goals in a game, also a record, and she was selected to the Mid-East Team for the National Field Hockey Tournament for four straight years. She joined three other players from Bucknell on the team that won the Third International Friendship Tournament in Mexico City in 1978. In her basketball career she averaged 10.8 points and 7.2 rebounds. In lacrosse, her 52 goals were a record at the time. A Fulbright Scholar, Wegener Knisely is a faculty member in the Department of Biology at Bucknell.
