Update from Head Field Hockey Coach Kelsey Kolojejchick -- October 2025
Hi Bison Field Hockey Family!
As we enter the heart of our season, we want to take a moment to share where we are as a team—and where we are headed.
This year, we are proud to be a young and determined group with a lot of promise. Every day, our athletes are learning, growing, and embracing the challenge of collegiate competition. We have had our ups and downs, but this young group’s potential is something to highlight. At one point this season we started five first-years! It goes to show how strong our underclassmen are and the potential this group has once our connections and confidence do come together as one cohesive unit. The team is putting in the work on and off the field, and we are energized by the progress we have made.
One of our biggest focuses right now is developing consistency—playing to our potential against every opponent, regardless of the scoreboard or setting. We need to show up for every opponent and play a full 60-minute game. Having a strong start to games is a great goal for this team because it helps our group build confidence and gain momentum to last a full game. This is an absolute must if we want to excel and make it to the tournament and win the close games against tough teams.
Now, with Patriot League play officially underway, our focus sharpens. These league games are the foundation of our season and the ultimate measure of our success. Every game is an opportunity to grow, compete, and push toward our ultimate goals. We are committed to improving each time we step on the field and doing everything we can to earn every win.
I wanted to take a quick moment to highlight senior captain Kira Leclercq. In addition to doing all the right things off the field, she has been leading the way with her tremendous play on the field, not only as one of the league’s best defenders, but also by scoring some remarkable goals for us. Her play continues to make a big impact for us.
Nicky Punt, one of our vice captains, has also done a great job in her leadership role but is also breaking Bucknell Field Hockey assist records! We continue to look forward to seeing both of them achieve great accolades this season!
To our incredible parents, friends, and alumni—thank you. Your support means the world to us. Now more than ever, we feel the impact of your encouragement and generosity, and we are so grateful to have you behind us as we continue to build something special within this program. We hope to see you all at our home games and if you are in the area of one of any of our away contests, we hope to see you there!
Thank you again, and ’ray Bucknell!
