Bucknell University Athletics
Update from Head Field Hockey Coach Kelsey Kolojejchick -- November 2023

Hi Bison Family!
Â
I hope everyone is doing well! I am thrilled with our team's performance over the past month. We started the month with a pair of tough losses against two quality opponents, but it was a great learning experience for our group. I am very happy with the attitude our team has displayed. Instead of those games bringing us down, we kept our chins up, learned from our mistakes, and became stronger for it. The team has been working much harder at practice, and their confidence has improved, which led to success with our final regular season games. They played super connected; they played with a fire that started in the first five minutes and lasted the whole game. We have been able to score many great goals while also doing a great job keeping the ball out of our circle.Â
Â
I am really excited to see our group peaking at the right time. This month's performance helped our team clinch the No. 4Â seed in the Patriot League Tournament. If we continue to play with the confidence and the composure they have shown down the stretch of the regular season, we will be capable of winning the tournament! Being an underdog is so much fun. The pressure is off, and we need to keep playing our game, and the rest will fall into place. (UPDATE: The Bison fought hard to the final whistle but fell 3-2 to No. 1 seed American on Thursday morning.)
Â
I am also happy to report that our team did a tremendous job fundraising for Play for the Cure. We raised $31,819 with massive help from Shereen Pavlides. Sheeren made such a positive impact, so we cannot thank her enough for her help with this fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who helped contribute to support a great cause!Â
Â
We are so excited to be hitting the road down to American University for the Patriot League Tournament. We play on November 2 at 11 a.m. against the top-seeded and home-standing Eagles, and we would greatly appreciate the support if you could attend our game! For those who cannot be there in person, you can catch the game on ESPN+. The championship final will be on November 4 at 1 p.m., and hopefully, you will see us there!
Â
Thank you to everyone for all of your support this season. The job still needs to be done for our group. We would appreciate your continued support throughout the year! Now it is time to fight for a Championship!
Â
Go Bison!
Â
’ray Bucknell!
