Women's Lacrosse Travels for Patriot League Semifinals Thursday

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's lacrosse is heading to Annapolis to take on top-seeded Navy on Thursday, April 30 at 3 p.m. in the Patriot League Semifinals. The Bison advanced to the semis after holding onto a lead to defeat Holy Cross 14-13 in the first round game and earn its second Patriot League Tournament win in program history.
The fourth seeded Bison enter the semifinals 10-6 overall and 6-4 in the Patriot League after its narrow first round win over the Crusaders. Navy, who sits at 8th in the country and atop the Patriot League, enters the game with a 16-1 overall record and 8-1 conference record after having a bye from the first round of tournament play.
The Midshipmen lead the overall series with Bucknell 18-0 as the Bison have never defeated Navy since the two programs met in 2008. In the regular season contest between the two teams, which was the first conference game of the season , the Midshipmen handed the Bison a 17-6 loss after coming back from a one-goal deficit in the first quarter.

Bucknell's Last Time Out
- The number four seeded Bucknell women's lacrosse team defeated number five seeded Holy Cross 14-13 in Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium to earn a spot in the Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Semifinals. The Bison were able to squeak out a one goal win thanks to a 7-0 run in the second half that just withstood a 5-0 Holy Cross run to end the game. Bella Crowley and the Bucknell defense came up with a big stop with 19.1 seconds left in regulation to secure the Bison win.
- Bucknell will now take on number one seeded Navy in Annapolis on Thursday, April 30 at 3 p.m. The last and only other time Bucknell has won a Patriot League Tournament game was in their first playoff run back in 2003 where they then fell to American.
- Megan Krestinski broke the single-season points record as she recorded four points in the contest to give her an overall 74 on the season. Carol Donohue '10 previously held the single-season points record with 71 in 2008.
- Krestinski's four points, on three goals and one assist, led the Bison alongside Caroline Sheridan who found four points on two goals and two assists. Katie Browne recorded three goals which tied with Krestinski for the highest goal scorer of the game. Caleigh Cummiskey was the third Bison to record three points in the game as she found two goals and one assist. Kat Reynolds recorded two points on one goal and one assist and four other Bison found one goal apiece to round out the Bucknell scoring.
- Despite losing the draw control battle 23-6, the Bison limited their turnovers to just six compared to Holy Cross' 15 and caused 10 turnovers while the Crusaders only caused three.
- Bella Crowley came up with six saves in the contest, including the game-saving save with under 20 seconds left in regulation. She ended the game with a .333 save percentage. Julia Dembowitz saw a couple minutes of game time in the contest and saved two of three shots that came her way.
#8 Navy at a Glance
- The Midshipmen enter the contest 16-1 overall and 8-1 in the Patriot League as the top-seeded team that is also ranked 8th nationally.
- Navy's lone loss of the 2026 season came at the hands of #22 Loyola (Md.) in the end of March as the Greyhounds came out with a 19-14 win in Baltimore.
- Alyssa Chung leads the team in scoring with 62 goals and 90 points on the season.
- Ava Yovino leads Navy in assists with 29 and Chung follows closely behind with 28.
- The ground ball leader for the Midshipmen is Felicia Giglio, the goalie, with 44.
- Yovino leads the team in caused turnovers with 22.
- Maura Murphy controls the draw for the Midshipmen with 121 draw controls on the year.
- Giglio is the starting goalie for Navy with 17 starts in 17 games. She has an overall save percentage of .483 with 114 saves and 122 goals against for a goals against average of 7.68.
The Bucknell / Navy Series
- This will be the 19th meeting between Bucknell and Navy in program history.
- In the first meeting between the two teams in 2008, Navy earned its first of 18 wins with an 18-11 scoreline.
- The Midshipmen lead the overall series 18-0.
- Navy defeated Bucknell earlier this season 17-6, after coming back from a one-goal deficit in the first quarter.
