LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell rowing team will look to build on a strong performance at last week's Knecht Cup when it travels to Ithaca on Saturday to face Cornell, Delaware, and Rhode Island. The Bison will have three eights and a four on Cayuga Lake, with each boat taking part in morning and afternoon sessions.
Â
Bucknell's Varsity Eight took home the bronze medal in a field of 40 entries at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River last week. The Bison won both of their preliminary races and then took third behind Radcliffe and UMass in the Grand Final. It will be the same crew this week as the team continues to progress toward the Eastern Sprints and then the Patriot League Championship next month.
Â
The Second Varsity Eight also performed well last week, as the Bison took third in their opening prelim behind Boston College and MIT and then posted a runaway victory over Colgate, Wisconsin, UAlbany, La Salle, and Fairfield in the Fourth Final.
Â
Bucknell did not enter any fours last week, so the 1V4+ will be back in action for the first time in two weeks.
Â
Next up are the Women's Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., on May 3.
