Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Colgate in Midweek Patriot League Game

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's lacrosse is hosting Colgate in a midweek conference game on Wednesday, March 25 as it continues to work for its first Patriot League win of the season. Bucknell will host the Raiders in Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium at 5 p.m.
The Bison currently sit at 4-4 overall and 0-2 in the Patriot League after falling to two ranked Patriot League opponents in Navy and Army. Bucknell enters the midweek matchup on a three-game losing streak. Colgate also enters the game 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the Patriot League. The Raiders are currently on a two game winning streak.
Colgate holds a dominant grasp of the overall series with Bucknell with a 38-7 record since the teams first met in 1981. Bucknell is on a one-game losing streak after dropping last year's game on the road by just one goal.

Bucknell's Last Time Out
- Army West Point rode a second half scoring surge to defeat Bucknell 16-7 on Saturday afternoon in Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. After the first half ended with Army up 6-4, the Black Knights came into the second half with a much more aggressive offensive force and went on a 10-3 run to earn the conference win.
- With the loss, the Bison fell to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in the Patriot League. Bucknell also was handed its first home loss of the season by the Black Knights.
- The first half of the game was a low-scoring defensive effort as the Black Knights took a 6-4 lead into halftime. Both teams struggled with turnovers as there were 24 first half turnovers and 11 caused turnovers. Army pulled away in the third quarter as it outscored Bucknell 3-1, with the Bison's lone goal coming midway through the quarter before the remainder went scoreless. The fourth quarter went all Army as it recorded 7 goals to Bucknell's two, extending its lead and taking the victory.
- Caleigh Cummiskey led the Bison in scoring as she notched a hattrick with two of her three goals coming in the fourth quarter. Regan Sansiviero had two goals and Caroline Sheridan and Megan Krestinski rounded out Bucknell scoring with one goal each.
- Bella Crowley came up big for the Bison in the back of the net to keep the game close as she recorded 14 saves in the contest. She ended the game with a .467 save percentage on 16 goals against.
- The Bison had four assists throughout the game with Cummiskey leading the group with two, giving her five points on the day. Krestinski and Alex Macutek each recorded one assist to round out the Bucknell assists on the afternoon.
- Army recorded 18 ground balls to Bucknell's 16. Annie Cornell and Katie Browne led the team in ground balls with three apiece.
- The Black Knights dominated the draw winning 20 of the 25 draw controls on the afternoon. Of the five that Bucknell won, each was brought in by a different player.
- The contest was riddled with turnovers as Army recorded 18 and Bucknell recorded 19. The Black Knights had 12 caused turnovers to Bucknell's eight. Alex Nesbitt, Regan Sansiviero and Annie Cornell led the team with two caused turnovers each.
