Water Polo Hosts CWPA Conference Games This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's water polo (7-2, 1-0 CWPA) finishes its home schedule this weekend with a three-game series against league foes in the CWPA Conference Crossover. The Bison will face a gauntlet of ranked opponents, #7 Harvard, #12 Princeton, and #14 Michigan. All weekend games will be streamed on YouTube. The Orange & Blue will celebrate Senior Day before the Princeton game on Saturday.Â

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison
- Bucknell holds a 7-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in CWPA play.Â
- The Bison finished 2-1 at the Bucknell Invitational last weekend. The Orange & Blue lost to Siena but rebounded to beat La Salle and then started CWPA competition with a win over in-state rival Saint Francis.
- Bucknell scored 16 goals against La Salle and dropped 14 cage-finders on SFU.Â
- The Bison did not receive any votes in the latest top 25 poll.Â
- Olivia Hopper leads the team with 26 goals.Â
- Three Bison are tied for second place with 13 goals: Ashley Hopper, Gwen Kallmeyer, and Bella Schraa.Â
- Two freshmen have reached double-digits in goals: Olivia Garcia (12) and Lin Naraoka (10).Â
- Bucknell will honor four seniors: Malla Challa, Kallmeyer, Anna Plante, and Schraa.Â
- Harvard is a sparkling 9-0 on the season and moved to seventh in the top 25 poll. The Crimson have posted three ranked wins. Harvard and Stanford are the two only undefeated teams in the top eight of the CWPA Poll.
- Princeton moved six spots from 18 to 12 in the latest poll after blasting Iona 14-2. The Tigers also are 9-0 and have defeated three ranked foes. Shanna Davidson has scored 26 goals.Â
- Michigan sits tied for 14th in the CWPA Poll and has a 7-6 record against a brutal schedule of eight ranked opponents. The Wolverines are 2-6 against ranked teams with both wins coming against UC Davis. Michigan has defeated every non-ranked team by double-digits. Seven Maize & Blue players have recorded double-digit goal totals.Â
