Water Polo Finishes Season with 11-2 Victory over Mercyhurst

ANN ARBOR, Mich.- Bucknell (14-11) completed the 2026 season on Sunday with a 11-2 victory over Mercyhurst (5-19) to finish fifth at the 2026 CWPA Championships. The Bison's defense completely dismantled the Lakers' offense with Mercyhurst shooting a pitiful .083 (2-of-24) from the field. Bucknell led 7-0 at halftime and coasted to the easy victory.Â
The first quarter was a Hopper show. Olivia scored two goals and twin sister Ashley added a tally. Addison Wedding added one of her game-high three goals for the 4-0 lead.Â
Bucknell's fabulous freshmen took over in the second period. Lin Naraoka, Kenzi Shaw, and Wedding each tallied a goal and the Bison led by a touchdown at halftime.
The Bison ran its lead to 9-0 after three quarters. Shaw and Wedding scored again.Â
Bucknell cleared its bench for the final period. Lehua Bender entered the cage, replacing Tamara Torkos who held Mercyhurst scoreless and collected eight saves. Campbell Collins and Malli Challa found the cage to finish Bucknell's scoring for 2026 in the 11-2 triumph.Â
The Orange & Blue will return to action in 2027.Â
