LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell Volleyball ran its winning streak to four straight games after defeating Holy Cross and four-time defending conference champion Colgate this past weekend and Patriot League voters recognized the Bison prowess by awarding Sidney Shaffer Player of the Week and Cameron Lloyd Defensive Player of the Week as announced Tuesday by the conference office. Shaffer also received her second Bison of the Week in 2025 and her third in her career for her record breaking performance against Holy Cross.Â
Shaffer dominated the court in Bucknell's 2-0 weekend. The junior middle blocker posted 29 kills on a .451 hitting percentage and added a defensive element with eight total blocks. Against Holy Cross, Shaffer was superlative, setting the program record for single game hitting percentage (.800) and led the team with 16 kills. The record was previously held by teammate Riley Tucker, who hit .727 last year against Loyola (Md.). Shaffer began the match 14-for-14 on attempts. She added 13 kills versus Colgate. The PL Player of the Week award is Shaffer's second of 2025. She won the honor on Sept. 16 and sits fifth in the conference for hitting percentage (.328).Â
The Patriot League resurrected the Defensive Player of the Week award for 2025 and Lloyd clinched her second of the season by shoveling 55 digs in the weekend's two games. She notched a season-high 31 digs in four sets against Holy Cross. She supplied 24 digs versus Colgate to average 6.11 digs per set for the weekend. Lloyd added three service aces against the Raiders. The junior libero ranks second in digs (395), fourth in digs per set (4.20) and sixth in aces (30).Â
Bucknell faces Army on Saturday and will obtain the fourth seed and quarterfinal hosting duties with a win and Navy loss to Colgate.Â
