Volleyball Sweeps Le Moyne

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y.- Bucknell Volleyball (3-4) swept the Le Moyne Dolphins (0-6) on the first day of the Siena Tournament on Friday. The Bison never trailed and easily handled the NEC foe, winning sets 25-20, 25-18, and 25-11 for its first sweep of 2026.Â
Cameron Lloyd and Sidney Shaffer each posted nine kills and a .444 hitting percentage. Katie O'Sullivan shoveled 18 digs and served five aces. Peyton McGee supplied 20 assists.Â
Bucknell reaped 41 kills on a sensational .398 hitting percentage to Le Moyne's 26 and .125 hitting percentage.
Both teams demonstrated strong serving with each team recording ten aces. Â
Le Moyne tied the Bison twice in the first set but Bucknell never fell behind and eventually rolled to the 25-20 first set win. After the Dolphins knotted the score at 7-7, the Orange & Blue uncorked a 5-0 run to create permanent separation. Le Moyne occasionally mounted mini-threats by pulling within three points but the Bison kept the Dolphins at bay for the set win.Â
The Bison raced to a 6-0 lead in the second stanza and, for the second straight set, never trailed. Le Moyne never gave up and kept cutting the deficit to four points. Bucknell refused to buckle and prevented any lengthy Le Moyne runs. A Le Moyne service error handed Bucknell the set.Â
Bucknell avoided any third set letdown. The Bison stampeded out to a 10-0 start with three Lloyd kills providing the bedrock. Le Moyne tried to rally but could never catch up. Bucknell kept stacking points and the set ended as it started with a Lloyd kill to clinch the win.Â
Bucknell faces Delaware State at 11 a.m. and Siena tomorrow at 2 p.m. to complete non-conference play.Â
