Men’s Golf in Ninth Place at Highland Meadows Intercollegiate

RESULTS
SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Bucknell men's golf team got off to a strong start before slipping down the leaderboard in the afternoon round as the Highland Meadows Intercollegiate got underway Monday. The Bison posted a 6-over-par 290 in the opening round before posting 301 in round two. Bucknell is in ninth place win 18 holes remaining on Tuesday.
Andres Barraza was the star of the day for the Bison, opening with a 3-under 68 and following it up with a 73 in the afternoon. Barraza is tied for 14th place at 1-under 141. Ben Warian of Minnesota is 14-under after firing 65-63, and he has the Golden Gophers atop the team standings at -20.
Barraza had only one blemish on his first-round card, a double-bogey at the par-3 5th hole. He made birdies at 3, 8, 11, 16, and 17, posting 31 on the back to shoot 68. He tallied three more birdies in the second round.
Also for Bucknell on Monday, James Robbins shot 74-74, James Key posted 73-76, Alex Creamean carded 75-78, and Lyman Brackett shot 76-78.
The third and final round gets underway at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
