About the Bison
- Bucknell will make its first appearance at Bowling Green's tournament at Highland Meadows Golf Club, a par-71 track that has hosted the LPGA Tour's Dana Open (formerly known as the Jamie Farr Classic) since 1989.
- This year's event has a strong field, including the Big Ten's Illinois and Minnesota and four teams from the Mid-American Conference.
- Mike Binney's lineup this week will consist of Alex Creamean, Andres Barraza, James Robbins, James Key, and Lyman Brackett. Michael Rudnick will play as an individual.
- This is Bucknell's final event before the Patriot League Championship, which will be hosted by Lehigh at Saucon Valley Country Club on Apr. 26-28.
- Bucknell was last in action at the end of March at the UC San Diego Invitational at Torrey Pines North. The Bison finished 12th with rounds of 305-296-292. Creamean was Bucknell's low player rounds of 75-74-72 (T30th). Key also closed with an even-par 72.
- Creamean leads the team with a 72.4 scoring average over the full season, with Barraza close behind at 73.5. In spring tournaments, Barraza (72.6) and Creamean (72.7) rank 1-2. Keys is also having a strong spring with a 74.7 average.
- Creamean, who won the Veterans Intercollegiate on Long Island in the fall, broke the school record with an 8-under-par 64 at the Loyola Invitational at Palm Valley GC in Arizona on Feb. 26. He shot 74-64-71 at that event and finished T8th. Barraza posted three red numbers in that event (71-67-68) and finished 6th at 10-under, which is Bucknell's 54-hole record.
- Creamean broke par in five of his last six fall rounds, lowering his season scoring average to 72.076. That was just a fraction of a stroke behind Chris Tanabe (72.066 in 2019) and Blake Wisdom (72.071) for the team record for low average in a fall season. Creamean's mark was the best-ever for a freshman in his first semester of competition.
