SYLVANIA, Ohio – Andres Barraza carded a 2-under-par 69 on Tuesday to finish at 3-under for the tournament, good for a tie for seventh place at the Highland Meadows Intercollegiate, hosted by Bowling Green. Bucknell shot 290 as a team in the final round and finished in ninth place.
Barraza compiled his second under-par round of the week, finishing with a 210 total (68-73-69) on a challenging par-71 track that plays host to an LPGA Tour event each year. He made five birdies to offset three bogeys in his final round, upping his tally to 13 birdies over the 54-hole event.
Barraza was one of five players to finish at 3-under and one of 17 to finish under par for the week. Minnesota's Ben Warian shot 65-63-70 for a 15-under 198, good for a five-shot win over Matt Armstrong of St. Thomas (71-65-67).
Bucknell posted solid 290 team scores in the first and third rounds, but a second-round 301 proved costly. In addition to Barraza's strong finish, Alex Creamean closed with a 71, James Key and James Robbins finished with 75s, and Lyman Brackett shot 76.
Minnesota lapped the field with a 19-under finish. Miami (Ohio) was runner-up at 10-under.
The Bison will now prep for the Patriot League Championship, which will be hosted by Lehigh at Saucon Valley Country Club Apr. 26-28.
