Women's Water Polo Drops First Game on West Coast.

CLAREMONT, Calif. --Â The Bucknell women's water polo team fell 9-4 to Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday night in its opening game of a Spring Break West Coast trip.

In the first half, Pomona-Pitzer surged ahead with a 6-2 run. The Sagehens initiated the scoring with the first goal, courtesy of sophomore utility player Brienz Lang. Responding swiftly, sophomore utility Gwen Kallmeyer leveled the score for the Bison. Campbell Collins contributed a goal to close the gap.

The Bison managed to score twice more, with senior attacker Sidney Finkler and junior attacker Boati Motau each finding the net. However, the Sagehens extended their lead with two goals in the final quarter, courtesy of junior utility player Kalyee Stigar and senior utility player Abigail Wiesenthal.

Next up, the Bison will face Azusa Pacific on Thursday at 6 p.m. Eastern.
