Women’s Lacrosse Falls at No. 17 Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell women's lacrosse team ran into a hot-shooting No. 17 Navy team on Saturday, and the Midshipmen ran away with a 21-6 win at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium. Katie Browne paced the Bison with two goals and an assist.
Taylor McClain and Caroline Sheridan both had a goal and an assist, and Allie Boyce also scored for the Bison, who fell to 3-7 overall and 1-3 in the Patriot League. This was Bucknell's third road game in a seven-day span, all against upper-division Patriot League squads in Navy, Lehigh, and Holy Cross.
Navy (9-3, 3-1 PL) received four goals and three assists from Emily Messinese, four goals from Tori DiCarlo, and three goals each from Kat McAteer and Lola Leone. The Mids scored their 21 goals on 36 shots.
Regan Sansiviero also had a multi-point game for the Bison with a pair of assists, and Colleen Kazanjian finished with 10 saves.
Navy began the day with four straight goals before McCain stuck back a rebound to get Bucknell on the board at the 9:16 mark of the first quarter. Navy added five more in succession to open up a 9-1 lead, and the Mids had a commanding 14-3 edge at the half.
After the long road stretch, the Bison return home next Saturday to face Colgate at 1 p.m.
