FARMINGTON, Pa. – Led by a strong round from each of its two freshmen, the Bucknell men's golf team posted rounds of 310 and 297 on Monday and sits in ninth place at the Nemacolin Collegiate Challenge, hosted by West Virginia. The Bison were one of only four in the 14-team field to finish their second rounds before darkness fell. The other 10 squads will complete their second rounds early Tuesday morning before the scheduled 8:30 a.m. start of the third and final round.
Playing on a challenging 7,500-yard Mystic Rock Golf Course that has a massive 77 rating and 149 slope, the Bison improved significantly in the second round thanks to a stellar 1-under-par 71 from freshman Jack Hartman.
