About the Bison
- Bucknell faces another tough field when it heads to Mystic Rock in southwestern PA for the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. West Virginia serves as the host of this first-year event, which takes place on a Pete Dye-designed 7,500-yard track with a lofty rating of 77 and a slope of 149. Mystic Rock hosted the PGA Tour's 84 Lumber Classic from 2003-06, with winners J.L. Lewis, Vijay Singh, Jason Gore, and Ben Curtis.
- This will be Bucknell's third of five fall tournaments. The Bison debuted with a T-6th finish at Colgate's Alex Lagowitz Memorial, and then last week they finished 10th at The Goat, hosted by Navy.
- Bucknell improved in each round at Navy, posting 302-297-292. The final-round 292 was tied for the third-best score in the 15-team field, as all five Bison shot 74 or better.
- Hayden Quinn (73-74-74), Michael Rudnick (76-73-72), and Jack Hartman (72-76-73) all shot 221 over 54 holes to finish in a tie for 28th place. Hartman's first-round 72 and Rudnick's second-round 72 were the team's low rounds of the week.
- Quinn leads the team with a 72.4 average through five rounds. The sophomore shot 71-70 for a 3-under total of 141 in a fifth-place finish at Colgate to start the year.
- Hartman, Quinn, Rudnick, Jake Maddaloni, and Patrick Pritsios will be in action this week. Maddaloni will be making his season debut.
- Hartman and Pritsios are both freshmen who were also classmates and teammates at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. Hartman is a second-generation Bison golfer, as his father Josh was a two-time All-Patriot League honoree and a two-time Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year while playing for coach Tommy Thompson from 1994-98.
- Bucknell will next appear at the Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa., on Oct. 7-8.
- Bucknell's fall slate culminates with the Bucknell Invitational Oct. 13-15, and the Bison will also host the 2025 Patriot League Championship next April 25-27.
