Bucknell at a Glance
• Bucknell faces another challenge at home this week when it hosts nationally-ranked Loyola for its second Patriot League game. It's Bucknell's third straight week at home before it hits the road for back-to-back games away from Christy.
• Bucknell fell to 1-5 (0-1 PL) with a 14-12 loss to reigning league champion Boston U. last Saturday. Approaching the back half of their schedule, the Bison are seeking their first win since a 20-6 dismantling of Mercer in the season opener.
• Freshman Will Hopkins was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for a second time this season on Monday. He registered his second hat trick of the season against the Terriers and now has three multi-goal games. Bucknell has now claimed 10 of the last 19 PL Rookie of the Week awards, dating back to last season, and has collected four weekly awards this spring.
• Dutch Furlong is currently leading all NCAA Division I players with 6.4 points per game. He tallied 10 for a second time this season against the Terriers, and he was one assist shy of Bucknell's school record (9). He's also tied for first on the NCAA leaderboard with 4.0 assists per game.
• Bucknell posted a 9-6 (3-5 PL) record in 2022 and was back in the Patriot League Tournament after missing during the abbreviated 2021 season. The Bison have missed the tournament just three times since 2005. Bucknell fell to third-seeded Loyola in the 2022 PL quarterfinals.
• Bucknell got off to a 5-0 start last season and finished first in the Patriot League in assists per game, ground balls per game and points per game. They were second in goals per game and shots per game.
• Bucknell set program records for goals (203), assists (127) and points (330), as well as a host of individual records.
• Bucknell was picked sixth in the 2023 Patriot League preseason poll. Additionally, sophomore Connor Davis was one of 16 student-athletes named to the 2023 Preseason All-Patriot League Team. Davis, who earned PL Rookie of the Year last season, scored 45 goals to tie for second in program history and was named PL Rookie of the Week six times.
• Bucknell lost 12 seniors to graduation, including 2022 All-League defenseman Drew Wellington and standout faceoff specialist Nick Crovatto. The Bison welcomed 15 newcomers this year, including 13 freshmen.
• Along with Davis, Bucknell brought back second-leading scorer Furlong, who finished sixth in the Patriot League in both shots per game and goals per game.
• Midfielders Cam Doolan and Furlong are the two returning Bison that started all 15 games last season.
• Seniors C.J. Baroni, Jack Feda, Conor McCusker, Andrew Stanzel and Danny Striano were voted team captains for the 2023 season.
• Head coach Frank Fedorjaka is in his 18th season leading the Bison. He possesses a 145-101 career record and is a three-time Patriot League Coach of the Year selection.

Inside the Boston U. Box Score
• Bucknell scored three unanswered goals over the final 7:19 of game time to pull within two of tying Boston University, but the Terriers held on for a 14-12 win. It was one of three 3-0 runs the Bison put together throughout the game, as they cut into large Boston leads on several occasions. Boston's largest lead of the game was 12-6 late in the third quarter.
• Bucknell's Dutch Furlong led all players with 10 points on eight assists and two goals. Connor Davis posted five goals and an assist, as he and Furlong connected on four of Bucknell's goals. Freshman Will Hopkins added a hat trick.
• Boston's Timmy Ley scored five times, and Louis Perfetto supplied seven assists.
• The Terriers benefited from 21 Bucknell turnovers and put 28 of their 47 shots on goal. Meanwhile, just 19 of Bucknell's 38 shots were on target.
• Bucknell freshman goalie Jaz Zanelli matched his season high of 14 saves, and Danny Striano recorded seven ground balls.
Loyola at a Glance
• Loyola moved to 4-2 (1-0 PL) on the season with a 17-9 loss to No. 4 Duke last Friday. Its only other loss was to No. 13 Rutgers in February. The Greyhounds opened the season with a 12-7 victory over No. 1 Maryland and also have a win over No. 9 Johns Hopkins.
• The Greyhounds were ranked 12th in this week's USILA Coaches' Poll and 11th in the latest Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
• Loyola was picked second in the 2023 Patriot League Preseason Poll, receiving 105 points and one first-place vote. Additionally, fifth-year defenseman Cam Wyers and fifth-year defensive midfielder Payton Rezanka were voted to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
• Wyers has twice earned USILA All-America honors, and Rezanka was a USILA All-American Third Team and Inside Lacrosse All-America Second Team honoree a year ago.
• Loyola finished 8-8 (6-2 PL) last season and reached the Patriot League semifinals before falling 14-13 to Army. They Greyhounds entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed.
• Loyola leads 10-3 in the all-time with Bucknell, which dates back to 1981. The Bison are 2-2 when hosting the Greyhounds. Bucknell's last win in the series was a 12-11 victory on the road in 2018, and it also defeated the Greyhounds the year before in a 9-8 double-overtime thriller at home.
• Bucknell was 0-2 against Loyola last season, falling 13-9 during the regular season and 11-7 in the Patriot League quarterfinals. The Bison held a 6-5 halftime lead in the tournament game in Baltimore, but the Greyhounds outscored them 6-1 in the second half. The Bison also led 7-5 through two quarters of the regular season matchup before being outscored 8-2 in the second half.
