Bucknell Baseball Drops Midweek Game Against Pitt

Pitt scored eight runs in the opening frame to take command of the game early, adding two runs in the second, one run in the third, and six in the fourth. The Panthers did most of their damage in the first with two outs, capitalizing on a hit followed by an error in the Bison infield.
Bucknell found a run each in the second and third innings, with Tyler Dunn scoring Chris Cannizzaro on a groundout and Jacob Corson singling home Anthony Sherwin.
However, Pitt left no doubt in the fourth, scoring six more times to pull away from the Bison.
Kyle Lyons continued his strong run of form with an RBI double in the sixth that scored Logan Kellerman, while Grant Voytovich and Matt Alexander each had an RBI in the eighth inning. The RBI for Alexander, a sac fly that scored Lyons, was the first of his career. Bucknell's final run of the game came in the ninth inning on an RBI double from Henry Novicki that scored Nic Adamo.
First-years Brady Karp and Derrick Yuengling also made their debuts as Bison in the defeat. Bucknell used five pitchers, with Renn Lints pitching a career-best three innings. Bryce Reimer also had an effective outing, posting four strikeouts and one earned run in 2.2 IP. Novicki also made his career debut on the mound, throwing a clean inning with a strikeout.
The Bison will have a quick turnaround, once again hitting the road to take on Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m., and the game is scheduled to broadcast on NEC Front Row.
