LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University women's water polo team is set for a five-game stretch over spring break in California.
Live stats will be available here.
The Bison will take on San Diego State to open the Aztec Invite on March 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET, before facing UC San Diego and Austin College on Sunday for two games. Bucknell will then continue north in the Golden State, facing La Verne on Wednesday, March 16, before wrapping up their trip out west with a Thursday night matchup against Long Beach State on March 17.
- This will be Bucknell's first trip out west since the COVID-19 Pandemic, two years to the day the virus canceled the team's season right before a scheduled matchup against Long Beach State on March 12, 2020.
- The Bison are coming off an 0-4 weekend, dropping two CWPA games against Saint Francis (Pa.) and Michigan, before falling to Iona and Salem on the second day of the Michigan Invite.
- Bucknell last played a full schedule of games in California in 2019, going 1-4. Bucknell's lone win came against Fresno Pacific, 17-3. Seniors Paige Furano and Larissa Hodzic had a goal each in the win as ten different Bison found the back of the cage.
- Bucknell will meet San Diego State, UC San Diego, and Long Beach State once more this weekend, with Bucknell coming closest to defeating the then-22nd ranked Aztecs, falling 12-8.
- Hodzic netted a career-best three goals against the Red Flash, while Furano put together a nice weekend by scoring 12 goals over the four games.
- Bucknell has never defeated San Diego State, owning an 0-11 record in the all-time series. The Bison are also 0-11 against UC San Diego in the all-time series, and 0-14 all-time against Long Beach State.
- Bucknell is 1-0 all-time against Austin College, defeating the Kangaroos 13-8 on February 1, 2020.
- Bucknell last faced La Verne in 2011, and is 4-0 in the all-time series against the Leopards.
