No. 25 Bucknell vs. Mount St. Mary's - Sunday, February 27, 1:30 p.m.Â
- Bucknell will take on three straight ranked opponents from the Ivy League to open its home weekend in a challenging slate. Bucknell has already faced CWPA foe Princeton once, falling to the Tigers 14-3 at the Princeton Invite on February 12. Â
- This will be the first matchup for Bucknell against Harvard or Brown since the 2019 season.   Â
- Bucknell's last matchup against the Crimson was a historic one, as the Bison defeated No. 16 Harvard 11-9 in the CWPA Championships third-place game to secure their highest finish in program history. Furano scored three goals in that game while adding an assist and three steals. Â
- Furano has enjoyed her matchups against the Crimson. The native of Stamford, Conn. tied the school record for goals in a game with seven against the Crimson on March 31, 2019. In three games against Harvard that season, Furano finished with ten goals to go along with seven assists.
- Hodzic also made an appearance in that game on March 31, providing an assist and drawing two exclusions as a first-year.
- Both have enjoyed decorated careers as Bison as contributing members of one of the most successful periods in program history. Â
- Furano enters the weekend having just surpassed the 100 career goals mark for the Orange and Blue in her last outing. Furano has accumulated 101 goals and 78 assists over her decorated career at Bucknell for a total of 179 points.
- The 179 career points is just shy of making it into the Bucknell record books top 15, where Brooke Rea holds the 15th spot with 230 career points. Â
- Hodzic has become a valuable asset for the Orange and Blue this season after having missed the past two seasons. Â
- After contributing 14 goals and five assists as a first-year, Hodzic has upped her game this season, already posting ten goals on the year, including the eventual game-winner against La Salle in the season opener. Hodzic also drew five exclusions, a career best, in the win over VMI in Bucknell's last game. Â
- In that win over the Keydets, first-years Sidney Finkler and Caroline Oates each scored their first career goals in Bucknell's 16-7 victory.Â
- The 16 goals for the Bison were a season best, and Bucknell also boasted a season-high 11 different goal scorers. Â
- Bucknell has managed ten goals or more in five of its seven contests this season. Â
- Bucknell defeated Brown 8-4 in the last matchup between the two teams on April 6, 2019. Furano dished out three assists in the victory as Bucknell held an opponent to under five goals for the second time that season.
- The Bison have defensively been solid, holding opponents to ten goals or fewer in five of seven games. Dating back to last season, Bucknell has held its opponents to under ten goals in 12 of its last 15 appearances. Â
- Bucknell's final matchup against the Mount has proven to be favorable for the Bison, with Bucknell taking two wins over the fledgling program in 2021 by a combined score of 41- 8.Â
- In Bucknell's 20-3 win in the weekend finale of the 2021 regular season, Isabelle Monaghan scored a career-high five goals, while Emma Molaski and Olivia Dey also scored. Dey also chipped in five assists in the win, while Kirstin Hayduchok added three. Â
- Bucknell will return to action after the weekend on March 5, when it travels to Michigan for four games, two of those being CWPA contests.  Â
