PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 24 Bucknell University women's water polo team wrapped up a 3-1 weekend with a resounding 16-7 win over VMI on Sunday morning. The 16 goals by the Bison were the most by the team this season, and the nine-goal margin of victory was Bucknell's largest since a 20-3 win over Mount St. Mary's on April 17, 2021.
Bucknell scored five unanswered goals to start the game in getting out of the gate early in this one, taking a 5-1 lead after the Keydets responded with a goal with seven seconds left in the first. Larissa Hodzic and Isabelle Monaghan scored two goals during the opening minutes, with Megan LaCroix also finding the back of the cage during the stretch.
The Bison kept the momentum in the second quarter, adding three more goals courtesy of Boati Motau, Chloe Smith, and Izzy Lippolis to stretch their lead to 8-3 at the halftime break.
VMI would not get any closer than six the rest of the way, as the Bison added three more goals in the third and five in the fifth to score the most goals in a single game by the program since the aforementioned Mount St. Mary's game from last season.

Sidney Finkler and Caroline Oates each opened their Bucknell accounts with their first career goals in the victory. Annika Lampen made seven saves in the win while also contributing two assists.
