About the Bison
- Bucknell will be back at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships for the first time since May 2019, and will look to improve upon a fourth-place finish two years ago.
- Bucknell returns one of its two gold medal winners in Maura Fiamoncini, who captured the league title in 2019 (168-2). Fiamoncini's mark was over 13 feet from the runner up, and her mark was a Patriot League Championship record.
- Bucknell excelled in the high jump at the 2019 meet, placing four in the top seven, including the top two. 2020 graduate Lexy Forrestal won the meet, with Taylor O'Brien finishing second. Alex Butz was fourth after clearing 5-5. The Bison have continued to perform well in the high jump this season, with first years Olivia Boyce and Abby Kates both making the Bucknell top ten list this season with 5-5 marks.
- Several other scorers return for the Bison from that meet, including Ashley Blair (5th, 5000), Delia Sipe (5th, shot put) and Abby Whitaker (8th, shot put).
- The Bison last competed in a postseason competition at the Patriot League Indoor Championships in March of 2020. Sipe broke the school record in the shot put (48-6) breaking the school record of 47-10.75 set by Chelsey Musante in 2010. Sipe ranks in the top four at Bucknell both indoors and outdoors in the event. Butz also had a solid day at that meet, finishing runner-up in the high jump (5-5).
- Ashlyn Ramos, who has enjoyed an excellent junior season by breaking the school record in the 10,000, finished fourth in the 3000, and will be expected to compete in both the 5000 and the 10,000 over the weekend.
- Bucknell has added seven new members to the Bucknell top ten list this season. Meghan Quinn ranks sixth in the 100 (12.10), Nora Bennett (8th, steeplechase), Ramos (1st, 10,000) (4th, 5,000) Gianna Macones (9th, long jump), Madison McGloin (7th, hammer), Butz (2nd, pole vault), and Jennifer Scott (4th, pole vault).
- Bucknell won the meet the last time it was held at Army in 2015, taking first with 165 points over second place Boston University (149). Sophia Nnadi, Efe Agege, Catherine Scott, Jess Bridle, Kim Lapszynski, Kafilat Oladiran, and Kim Nagotko all earned First Team honors at the meet.
Bucknell will travel to the Army Twilight Meet on Friday, May 7.
