SHAMOKIN DAM, Pa. -- The Bucknell rowing team competed head-to-head against Delaware on Saturday afternoon on the Susquehanna River, and the Bison Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight were both victorious against the Blue Hens.

The V8+, guided by coxswain Juliette Gaggini, covered the 2,000-meter course in 5:56.54, which was nearly 12 seconds faster than Delaware. Caroline Lopez coxed the 2V8+ to a near 10-second win over the Blue Hens with a time of 6:16.58.

The closest race of the day came in the Varsity Four, where Delaware's time of 6:52.51 was just over three seconds ahead of Bucknell. The Blue Hens also prevailed in the 2V4+ and 3V8+.

The Bison are back in action next Saturday at home against Connecticut. Racing gets underway at 9 a.m.
