Bison Rowers Win All Four Races against UConn

SHAMOKIN DAM, Pa. -- The Bucknell rowing team won all four races in a dual competition with Connecticut on Saturday morning on the Susquehanna River. The Bison Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight both improved to 3-0 this spring, while the Third Varsity Eight and Varsity Four were also victorious. All four Bucknell crews won by at least nine seconds.Â
The Varsity Eight, paced by coxswain Juliette Gaggini and stroke Natalie Kreusch, covered the 2,000-meter course in a time of 6:15.32. The Huskies were 20 seconds behind in 6:35.37. Erin Sullivan, Casey Miller, Caroline Brandt, Maddie Wickers, Olivia Zavrel, Elizabeth Berlinger and Caitlin Cobb rounded out Bucknell's top unit.Â
The 2V8+ finished in 6:29.38 for an 18-second win over UConn, and the 3V8+ posted a time of 6:47.05 to win by 29 seconds. Bucknell's V4+ took first in 7:22.84, just under 10 seconds faster than the Huskies quartet.Â
The Bison are back in action next Saturday, May 1 at home against Fordham at 4 p.m.Â
