About the Bison
- Bucknell shook off some tournament rust by playing in its first team event in 13 months last weekend. The Bison finished second in a nine-team field at The Carpetbagger Classic at Worthington Manor CC in Maryland.Â
- Bucknell posted team scores of 299-302 and finished second to Fairleigh Dickinson by five shots. The Bison held a slim lead at the end of the first round, but FDU posted a 295 on Sunday to take the title.
- Sophomore Jack Gardner compiled a 1-over-par 145 (72-73) and was tied with FDU's Jaime Julve for first place after 36 holes. Julve claimed medalist honors on the second playoff hole, but the runner-up finish was the best of Gardner's young career.
- Sophomore Jackson Bussell was the No. 2 Bison after carding a pair of 75s. He finished T-12th. Chris Tanabe (76-76), Blake Wisdom (79-78) and Jason Lohwater (76-83) rounded out the Bucknell quintet, while Josh Holtschlag (79-79), Dylan Ford (82-78) and Max Orwicz (85-76) all played as individuals.
- This weekend's lineup will feature Gardner, Bussell, Tanabe, Wisdom and Holtschlag, with indy spots going to Lohwater and Ford.Â
- This is Bucknell's first time competing at Rum Pointe, a Scottish-style links course located about eight miles from Ocean City, Md.
- Four of the teams in this week's field also competed at The Carpetbagger last week. The Bison finished ahead of Binghamton, Iona, Lafayette and Mount St. Mary's.Â
- The Bison return to action on Saturday, Apr. 3 at the Columbia Spring Invitational at Rolling Green GC in Springfield, Pa.Â
