RESULTS
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Bucknell men's golf teams posted rounds of 288 and 292 on Saturday as Penn State's Rutherford Intercollegiate got underway. The Bison are in eighth place in a field of 13 teams. James Robbins is the low Bison through 36 holes after he carded 72-71 on the par-71 Penn State Blue Course.
Robbins made five birdies and had only one hole worse than bogey all day. His 1-over 143 total puts him in a tie for 19th place, five shots behind the leader Owen Rexing of St. Thomas.
Hayden Quinn is just one shot behind Robbins in a tie for 24th at 2-over 144 (73-71). Taylor Kuehn opened with an even-par 71 before shooting 74 in the afternoon round. Jack Hartman was Bucknell's fourth counter with 72-76. Jaxon Brown, playing as an individual, shot a pair of 76s.
Rexing has a one shot lead over teammate Mason Roloff, Delaware's Arsit Areephun, and Penn State's Nick Werner. Fifteen player are in red numbers and three others are even par.
Penn State shot a 9-under 275 in the second round and is at 8-under 560 through 36. George Mason is second at 565, followed by St. Thomas (569), Connecticut (570), and Yale (571). Bucknell's 580 composite is two better than Towson and also ahead of St. John's (585), Loyola Chicago (586), Binghamton (587), and Long Island (594).
The third and final round is set for Sunday morning.
