About the Bison
- Bucknell wraps up the 2026 fall season Monday and Tuesday at the Blue Hen Intercollegiate at Wyncote GC.
- This is Bucknell's fifth tournament of the fall. The Bison have had some good results with a young squad thus fall, including two under-par team scores. The highlight thus far was a win at Binghamton's Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational two weeks ago.
- Most recently, the Bison finished 10th at their home tournament last week, which was shortened to 36 holes due to rain. Bucknell opened with a 2-under 278, but dropped five spots to the 10th-place finish with a final-round 290.
- Freshman Charlie Barrickman opened with a 4-under 66 last week, his best round to date in what has been a sensational fall. Barrickman won the Alex Lagowitz Memorial at Colgate in his collegiate debut, and he finished third at Binghamton. He has broken par in five of his 10 rounds this fall and leads the Bison with a 71.4 stroke average.
- Taylor Kuehn tied Barrickman for low-Bison honors last week, finishing T-18th with a pair of even-par 70s. Kuehn is second on the squad with a 73.2 average. Jaxon Brown (75.1) and Brad McDermott (75.7) round out the team's top four.
- Barrickman, Kuehn, Jack Hartman, Henry Bolster, and Brown get the starting nods this week, with McDermott and Conner Freedman playing unattached. Â
- Barrickman is just the second Bucknell freshman ever to win a tournament, and the first to do it in his collegiate debut. His first-round, 3-under 69 at Colgate was the lowest in relation to par by a Bison freshman in his first career round. He started the final round two shots off the lead, and then battled a pair of Seton Hall players all day for the top spot. Barrickman, who qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship earlier this summer, began on the sixth hole and jumped out to a par-birdie-birdie start. He bogeyed the ninth, but that was his only blemish of the day. He ended a string of eight straight pars with a birdie at the par-5 18th to grab a one-shot lead over Will Hennessee. Still sitting on that slim lead heading into his final hole, Barrickman closed with a birdie while Hennessee parred his final hole, giving the Bison rookie a two-shot win. He earned Patriot League Golfer of the Week and Bison of the Week honors for his efforts.Â
