About the BisonÂ
- Bucknell enters the game at 0-3, but has dropped two of its three games by one-run scores. The Bison dropped a 3-2 decision at Mount St. Mary's on March 4 in extra innings, and fell in its last game, 5-4, to La Salle at Depew Field. Â
- Henry Novicki has enjoyed a hot start for the Bison, accumulating Bucknell's only hit at Mount St. Mary's, a go-ahead, two-run home run in the top of the tenth, and has three hits in seven at-bats so far this season. The native of Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania showed promise at the plate in his first season in the Orange and Blue, where he posted two games with two or more hits, including a 3-for-6, five-RBI effort against NJIT in 2020. Â
- Junior Chris Cannizzaro has also picked up where he left off last season, where he was leading the Patriot League in RBIs before the season was cut short. Cannizzaro has hit three triples in three games, and has already picked up five of Bucknell's 13 total hits this season. The native of Staten Island is hitting .417 through his first three games this season.  Â
- First year Jacob Corson is Bucknell's only other player with multiple hits this season, both of which came in game two against La Salle.  Â
- Cannizzaro, Novicki, Caleb Broughton, and Peter Marren are the only three Bucknell players who have played and started all three games this season.   Â
- Sophomores Tyler Rigot and Will Greer each have posted solid starts for the Bison this season. Rigot pitched four innings while allowing two hits, while Greer pitched five innings in his first start of the year, yielding three hits and two runs, both unearned. Â
- Bryce Reimer, Graeme Carroll, and Connor Vucovich each made their debut for the Bison, along with Logan Kellerman, Mason Kelly, and Grant Voytovich.
- Senior Brenden Tuttle earned the first start of his career against the Mountain Hawks, throwing 121 pitches overall and shutting out Lehigh over the last two innings in a 6-5 win. Austin Odell also made an appearance in the first game of the doubleheader, throwing a scoreless inning. The appearance was the last for Odell after he missed all of 2020 with an injury, before returning against La Salle over the weekend. Â
- Bucknell is 102-90 all time against the Mountain Hawks, with each of the last five games between the two teams decided by two runs or less. Â
- Lehigh is 2-4 this season with two wins over Coppin State before dropping four games to George Washington on March 6-7. Â
Up NextÂ
- Bucknell is scheduled to host Army for four games on March 20-21.Â
