Robert Morris Rallies to Edge Women's Lacrosse, 11-8

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Robert Morris used a second-half rally to edge the Bucknell women's lacrosse team, 11-8, on Saturday at Joe Walton Stadium.
The Colonials (3-1, 0-0 NEC) outscored the Bison (2-4, 0-0 PL) by a 7-1 margin in the final 30 minutes to overcome a 7-4 halftime deficit. After Bucknell raced out to an early 6-1 lead at the first half's 13:46 mark, Robert Morris scored seven of the next eight goals to take an 8-7 advantage at the second half's 13:35 mark.
Morgan Steinhacker completed her hat trick at the second half's 8:50 mark to even the score at 8-8. But the Colonials closed out the game on a 3-0 run to emerge victorious.
For the Bison, Steinhacker (3g) and Tegan Warren (2g) enjoyed multi-point outings. Steinhacker also logged seven draw controls, moving her to seventh in school history with 115 in her career.
Laurel McHale caused three turnovers while Ella Payer logged three ground balls. Caitlin Tucker made 11 saves in net.
For the Colonials, twins Melanie (3g-3a) and Mackenzie (2g-2a) Gandy led the attack. Kelly Colegrove was a force, posting game-best totals in ground balls (6) and caused turnovers (4). Katelyn Miller finished with eight saves.
Robert Morris held leads in shots (30-22), shots on goal (22-16) and ground balls (27-26). Bucknell held a sizable advantage in draw controls, 16-5, in large part thanks to Steinhacker's efforts.
The Bison next continue their road swing, squaring off against Campbell on March 7 at 1 p.m.
