About the Bison
• Bucknell went 4-1 at the Campbell Invitational last weekend and is now 6-3 on the season. It's the best start through nine games for the Bison since beginning the 2017 season 7-2.
• Raeanne Geffert had a big weekend at the Campbell Invitational, as the senior set new all-time career records for strikeouts (505), innings pitched (579.2), and wins (52). Geffert is 4-2 this season with a 1.54 ERA and a league-high 66 strikeouts.
• Freshman pitcher Kaiya Burton picked up her first career wins last weekend in games against Howard and Saint Francis. Burton earned just one run over the weekend and threw 12 strikeouts while allowing only two hits in seven innings against the Red Flash.
• Sophomore Allyse Volpe leads the Bison with 14 hits this season. Volpe posted a 4-for-4 day at the plate against Saint Francis last weekend and is 11-for-11 on stolen base attempts this season.
• Freshman Chase Knapp leads Bucknell with nine RBIs through two weeks. She's one of four Bison with double-digit hits this season.
• Senior Halie Mariano finished last weekend with four extra-base hits and six runs scored. Mariano was named an honorable mention for Patriot League Player of the Week on Tuesday after going 3-for-3 with two doubles and a pair of RBIs in Sunday's win over the Mountaineers.
Scouting the Opponents
• Indiana – The Hoosiers are 3-6 to begin the 2020 season after taking part in invitationals at UCF and Duke.
• NC State – NC State won its sixth game of the season Wednesday with a 12-4 victory over Elon. The Wolfpack went 3-1 last weekend at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
• Saint Joseph's – Saint Joseph's is 2-3 after its first weekend of play at the Citrus Blossom Invitational in Orlando, Fla. The Hawks picked up wins over Charleston Southern and Bethune-Cookman and are hitting .257 as a team.
Series History with the Opponents
• Indiana – Friday will be the first-ever meeting between Bucknell and Indiana. Bucknell is 11-40 against current Big Ten teams.
• NC State – The Bison have never faced NC State. Bucknell is 3-2 in all-time meetings with current ACC teams.
• Saint Joseph's – Bucknell is 5-6 in all-time meetings with the Hawks, dating back to 1992. Bucknell lost 8-5 during the last meeting in 2011.
Up Next
• Bucknell will have nearly two weeks off before traveling to Huntington, W.Va. to compete in the Thundering Herd Round Robin, hosted by Marshall on March 7 and 8. The Bison will face both Rutgers and Marshall twice during the weekend.
