About the Bison
• Bucknell opened its season at the Upstate Classic last weekend, going 2-2 against the competition. Bucknell picked up wins over Towson and three-time defending Northeast Conference champion Saint Francis.
• The Bison offense was explosive in both wins with a combined 19 runs scored in 10 innings. As a team, Bucknell hit .333 over the four games with eight extra-base hits.
• Senior pitcher Raeanne Geffert picked up two wins in the circle over the weekend. Geffert totaled 23 strikeouts in 16.1 innings pitched and finished with a 1.29 ERA. She was an honorable mention for Patriot League Pitcher of the Week.
• Freshman shortstop Chase Knapp was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week after leading the Bison with seven RBIs. Knapp recorded hits in all four games, including a double and a home run.
• Junior Jess Hom was 6-for-10 at the plate over the weekend with a double and a pair of triples.
• Sophomore Allyse Volpe was 7-for-13 with five runs scored. Volpe was also 5-for-5 on stolen base attempts, and as a team, Bucknell was 14-for-15 on steals.
• Junior Taylor Wolfgang and senior Lauren Lichtenwalner each finished the weekend with three RBIs.
Scouting the Opponents
• Howard – Howard opened its season at the Red & Black Showcase, hosted by Georgia last weekend. The Bison failed to pick up a win, as four of their games were ended by mercy rule. Howard sophomore Camille Navarro went 6-for-14 at the plate as one of Howard's most productive hitters.
• Campbell – The Camels are 1-4 after participating in the Kickin' Chicken Classic at Coastal Carolina last weekend. The Camels picked up a 4-3 win over the Chaunticleers and will face No. 25 North Carolina Wednesday, Feb. 12.
• Mount St. Mary's – Mount St. Mary's game against Bucknell will be its first of the season. The Mountaineers went 26-28 last season, including a 9-7 record in the Northeast Conference.
• Saint Francis – The Red Flash went 1-3 at the Upstate Classic, including a 10-2 loss to Bucknell. Saint Francis won its season opener 5-4 over Marshall.
Series History with the Opponents
• Howard – Bucknell is 3-1 in all-time meetings with Howard, dating back to 2007. Bucknell picked up an 11-3 win over Howard on March 2 last season.
• Campbell – Campbell leads the all-time series 5-1 over the Bison. The two teams last played in 2018 and split the doubleheader.
• Mount St. Mary's – Bucknell holds a 27-8-1 lead in the all-time series with the Mountaineers, dating back to 1989. The two teams split last season's doubleheader.
• Saint Francis – Bucknell is 30-23 in all-time meetings with Saint Francis, including Saturday's 10-2 victory.

• Bucknell returns to North Carolina for the Fairfield Crabtree Invitational, hosted by NC State in Raleigh, N.C. The Bison will face Indiana, NC State, and Saint Joseph's over the three-day invitational. The weekend begins with a 12:30 p.m. matchup with Indiana on Friday, Feb. 21.
