About the Bison
- Bucknell is coming off an impressive road win at Canisius on Sunday, scoring four goals for the most by a Bison team in a game since a 7-0 win over Howard on Oct. 11, 2016.
- Eddie Perez-Pelaez had an explosive start to his college career in his first two appearances, notching the equalizing goal against the Knights before netting a brace against the Golden Griffins on Sunday. Out of four shots that Perez-Pelaez has taken this season, three have found the back of the net.
- For his efforts, the New York, N.Y. native was named the Patriot League Offensive Player, Rookie, and Bison Athlete of the Week.
- The freshman becomes the first Bison to score three in their rookie season since Matt Thorsheim's impressive freshman campaign in 2017 in which he netted five goals and added four assists.
- Also getting onto the scoresheet were sophomores Jacob Mittman and Patrick O'Hara, who each picked up their first career goals.
- O'Hara's goal, an opportunistic volley on a great cross from Thorsheim, helped Bucknell to a 3-0 lead over the Golden Griffins.
- Just 30 seconds after a penalty kick from Canisius cut the Bison lead to 3-1, Mittman latched onto a pass from freshman Jameson Railey to score his first collegiate goal.
- The Bison have started four freshmen through the first two games in defender Zach Hurchalla, winger Mo Tall, Perez-Pelaez, and midfielder Railey.
- Tall picked up his first career assist on a great cross that found the head of Perez-Pelaez for his second goal of the day.
- The Bison last won a game by a 4-1 score on Oct. 8, 2014 at Loyola. Bucknell's last victory by three goals or more also came in that Howard game from 2016.
- The win over Canisius was the first by the Bison since 2008, a 5-4 goal fest in Buffalo. The victory evens the all-time series record at 3-3-1.
- The Bison trail the all-time series with the Mountaineers 4-6, but have won three out of the past four and two in a row.
- Bucknell opened the 2018 season in Emmitsburg, taking a 2-0 win. Trevor Wiggins and Nick King each notched an assist on Tyler Peterson's opening goal.
- The two teams were even in shots, 9-9, but Bucknell held a 5-2 advantage in shots on frame.
- Last year's meeting was the first between the two schools, located 114 miles apart, since 2002.
- The Mount heads into the game with a 1-0 record after 4-3 win over Winthrop at home on Sept. 1, scoring twice within 30 seconds in the final eight minutes to overcome a 3-2 deficit.
- Bucknell will have a week off before hosting Drexel on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m.
