About the Bison

Bucknell is back in action this weekend for its second event of the 2018 fall season. The Bison are coming off a T-11th finish among 17 teams at Colgate's Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational last week.
It was an up and down debut for the Bison, who posted team scores of 309-291-302 at Seven Oaks GC. Freshman Jason Lohwater, a Rochester native playing not far from his hometown, led the way with a 14th-place finish with rounds of 76-71-72 on the par-72 course.
Sophomore Chris Tanabe teed it up as an individual last week and also placed T-14th (77-70-72). He was the low indie in the field.
J.P. Raftery posted an even-par 72 in the second round, which was sandwiched between a 78 and 77. After winning Bucknell's preseason qualifier, freshman Carter Cook lined up in the No. 1 spot last week and shot 78-74-79. Peter Bradbeer and Jubal Early also played at Colgate and had low rounds of 74.
This week's lineup features Lohwater, Tanabe, Raftery, Bradbeer and Early.

Bucknell at the Cornell Invitational

Bucknell has been a regular at this event, appearing every year since 2003.
The Bison have finished among the top five teams at the Cornell Invitational seven times in the previous 15 appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2009. Brian Bartow and Andrew Cohen finished 1-2 in the individual standings that year, as Bucknell finished second to Binghamton.
Last year, the Bison finished 13th out of 16 teams with rounds of 304-293-300. Connor O'Brien shot 75-69-79 and finished T-30th. Tanabe (76-74-72) was the lone member of last year's Cornell Invitational lineup playing again this time.

Up Next

Bucknell's busy fall schedule takes the team up to Quechee (Vt.) Club for the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge, hosted by Dartmouth, next Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-23. The Bison played in this event for the first time last year and finished in sixth place among 14 teams. J.P. Raftery finished T-7th after shooting even par (71-73) over 36 holes.
