Bucknell Women's Lacrosse Falls 22-2 at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Thirteen different players scored for Penn State including Laura Lesnick, who tallied a game-high four goals, as the Nittany Lions defeated Bucknell women's lacrosse 22-2 in University Park on Wednesday night. The loss drops the Bison to 1-3 on the year despite goals from Katelyn Miller and Lindsey Ferro.
Miller ended Penn State's 9-0 run to start the first half. The Bucknell freshman scored with 59 seconds left in the first on an assist from classmate Andrea Feldman. It was the first shot on goal for the Bison.
The second half opened with another goal for Bucknell straight out of the gates. Ferro netted her fourth goal of the season less than three minutes after action resumed to bring the score to 9-2. Sophie Kleinert earned her first career assist on the play.
That was the last of Bucknell's offense as Penn State (1-2) sailed its way through the remainder of the game. The Nittany Lions scored the final 13 goals of the contest. They also outshot Bucknell 48-5 on the night.
Alyssa DeLorenz made 18 saves for Bucknell, including 11 in the first half. Penn State split its keepers' time with Dana Cahill earning the win after playing the first 30 minutes. Cahill's replacement, Melissa Lloyd, made two saves in the second half.
Bucknell will play its second straight road game on Sunday when it heads to Drexel. Game time in Philadelphia is set for 1 p.m.
