New Haven, Conn. - Celine Herbin established a new school record by shooting a three-over 73, passing the 74 that teammate Jaime Hays shot at last year's Yale Invitational. As a team, the Bison are in eighth place after shooting a +48, 23 shots back of the leader, Rollins College.
After Herbin's score, Bucknell's next-highest finisher was Jaime Hays, who shot a ten-over 80 and is tied for 18th place. The final three Bison are in close company, as Teri Schlang is tied for 47th with with a 17-over 87, while Stephanie Calhoun is tied for 49th with an 18-over 88. Meredith Kalman was Bucknell's final entrant, shooting a 19-over 89, good enough 54th-place tie.
In the team standings, Rollins College's 25 was three shots better than Princeton's 28. Yale at +33, St. John's at +36, Boston College at +40, and Penn and Dartmouth at +47 round out the group ahead of the Bison.
Individually, Herbin's 73 ties her with Jaclyn Sanders of St. John's and Meg Nakamura of Princeton for the overall lead, just one shot ahead of two other golfers, Charlotte Campbell and Freddie Seeholzer, both of Rollins, at a four-over 74.
The second and final round will take place on Sunday.
