Women’s Golf in 4th after Solid Opening Day in Bermuda

RESULTS
SOUTHAMPTON, Bermuda – Sophia Bardunias fired a pair of 3-over-par 74s to lead the Bucknell women's golf team to a solid opening day at the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate at Port Royal Golf Club. The Bison are in fourth place in a field of 11 teams, and Bardunias will start Tuesday's final round just two shots off the lead.
Bucknell put up rounds of 311 and 313 on Monday, and the 624 total is seven shots behind third-place UAlbany. Stetson compiled the low score in both rounds (307-292--599) and has a commanding 17-stroke lead over second-place Wofford (316-300—616). Morehead State is fifth at 629, with host Lehigh well back in sixth place at 643.
Bardunias made two birdies in the first round and four in the afternoon on the way to a 6-over total of 148. Stetson's Ailsa Brannock posted a pair of 73s for a 4-over 146, with Bella Kent of Wofford (75-72) just one shot back.
Nicole Yun and Katherine Vice are also in the top-20. Yun carded 80-77 to sit in a tie for 17th place, while Vice posted 78-80 and is tied for 19th. Joelle Johnson and Paige Richter both shot 79-82, and Lila Smith shot 85-84.
The 54-hole tournament wraps up on Tuesday afternoon.
